Over the past couple of months talks have been taking place at Dublin Bus HQ on cutting the workings conditions of drivers across the CIE Group. With the cuts being so severe trade unions could not come to any agreement with management at Dublin Bus.

It is expected that the company will refer the case to the labour court looking to secure an agreement with both trade unions. If agreement is reached it is expected that the membership of both unions will be put to ballot as the cuts will affect their working conditions.

Bus Eireann have already entered talks with the company in the Labour Relations Commission on the severe cuts to driver pay & conditions. It was stated by a union source that the CIE Management tried to separate the Union Reps from the officials and only wanted to deal with officials from both trade unions. This was rejected out of hand by all Reps.
