CAHWT Bray activists occupy council chamber

The first occupation of Bray Town Council in 40 years took place last night with political parties across the board taken by surprise by the escalation of the protest action.

Last night an lively protest picket organised by Wicklow CAHWT took place at the last meeting of Bray Town Council before the summer recess

It represented a fresh shot across the bow of the local political establishment as the campaign cranks up a gear in response to the outrageous threatening letter due to be sent to the not payers of this unjust charge

The snooty disregard for the protest shown by most of the councillors brought home to us the need to puncture the bubble the live in hence a peaceful occupation of the chamber took place which disrupted proceedings for a period

Last night's successful action will be followed up in the weeks ahead with building for a national demo at the Dail on 18 July at 5pm meeting at the Central Bank Plaza as well as local public meetings to maintain the boycott campaign locally
