Eurprice workers win all demands

Author:

The workers at the Eurprice store in Waterford were forced by another greedy company to take militant action in order to get their entitlements. They followed workers at Thomas Cooks, Visteon, Waterford Crystal, Game and La Senza who were all forced to take similar action.

The women won all their demands and are occupying until the money is transferred to make sure the company cough up what they have now promised.

The lesson is this: occupation works. It gives you a base of operations from which to garner solidarity from other workers, Unlike a picket it's much harder for the boss or the state to move you on. (As well as protecting you from the weather!) The boss can't get any stock or tools in or out as long as you control the premises and scabs cant get in either to try and do your work or get rid of the last bits of stock.

Socialist Worker congratulates the Eurprice women and hopes that more workers take this kind of action to put manners on greedy companies!
