Workers occupy Eurprice shop Waterford

Workers at the EURprice store in Waterford have begun a sit in to protest another company trying to rip off workers.

Helen one of the workers explains how the sit in began on their facebook support page:

"I rang the liquidator who now controls this company on wednesday morning. He sent one of his colleagues to meet us here @ midday on Wednesday. He had the new set of keys with him when he arrived. He put them in the lock and opened the door and as the entrance door sometimes need a bit of a push to open whilst holding the keys i said "I'll do that for you". So he left me. I took them out of the lock and put them in my pocket where i told him they shall remain until we get our money."

"Our recent Meeting with the liquidator of eurprice has had the following results. We will not be receiving any redundancy, wages, holiday entitlements or overtime due. We will also not be receiving the statutory 2 weeks notice that we should have received. Therefore we shall continue to sit out in this store until these people are held accountable for the situation we are in. We will not be going home empty handed. What do these people expect us to live on and feed our children with? We stand united. No stock released until we get what we worked for."
