Feeder marches will gather at Christchurch, Phibsboro Shopping Centre and Pearse St Dart Station. Crowds who attend will be entertained with rousing protest speeches and music.
In a statement, James O Toole said, ˜There are nearly 500,000 unemployed in this country but very few will be able to afford a holiday. We are sending out an open invitation to the unemployed to come along with their families to a major protest carnival to Dublin.
˜We want to change in this country because it has always suggested that the unemployed just emigrate. But we think that protest can be mixed with fun and enjoyment. That is why we are inviting the unions, community groups and unemployment organizations to come to this carnival and get in touch with us with their own ideas on how best we can express our aspiration for a new and alternative Ireland".
