Fujitsu workers across the UK have started
industrial action against management’s job cuts, attacks on pay and pensions, writes Gerry Carroll

Hundreds of IT workers at Fujitsu services are to start five days of strikes starting this week.

Over ninety staff at the Carlton Hotel, Galway have commenced a series of stoppoages to demand management engage in discussions over an outsourcing dispute.

All across the country, public sector workers showed how much society depends
on their efforts.
Schools, courts, colleges, hospitals effectively closed down,
except for emergency services. Just four strikers shut down Stephen’s Green in Dublin, for example, while more than a thousand teachers gathered outside the Department
of Education. Bus drivers and postal workers refused to pass picket while many
pedestrians shouted their support and cars honked their horns. For the first
time, public sector workers recovered their pride as they learnt that many
supported their struggle.

Last year the company didn't pay a Christmas bonus; nor will they do so this year. The proposed 12.5% pay cut is on top of this.
